Elections – Lone Star Region Porsche Club

The voting will start November 1, 2019 for our board of Directors. All LSRPCA Members and Co-Members will receive a ballot via email from Election Buddy.  If you’ve always had that urge to help our club, becoming a board member or chair is a good way to get involved. Think about it for next year. While it’s good for the club to have a steady direction, it’s to everyone’s advantage to bring in new people with fresh ideas. Everyone has something to contribute.

2020 LSRPCA Election - Candidates

Running for President

Doug Carroll

Doug Carroll

I joined the Lone Star Region PCA in 2011 after hearing rave reviews about the HPDE program being run at Texas World Speedway. The track bug quickly took hold and I became a HPDE instructor with the club in 2013. 2013 is also the year I bought my 1978 911sc, Donovan. Since then I've volunteered more and more in all aspects of the club, becoming the club treasurer in late 2017. The treasurer position has given me a great vantage point to see all the operations of the club from our weekly Saturday get-togethers to the most extensive events such as our membership party earlier this year and everything in between. Professionally I am a financial advisor working for Mariner Wealth Advisors. Before transitioning into the financial planning and advice business, I worked as a consulting mechanical engineer in the electric power industry for 15 years. I would be honored to lead this club and look forward to making our events even better than they are now and providing even more opportunities for Porsche fanatics in the Houston area to share their passion.

Running for Vice President

Alastair Donald

Alastair Donald

Alastair became a car enthusiast when he was given his first Porsche, a Dinky toy 356, as a toddler. That enthusiasm has grown into a passion for all things automobile. He has been an active member of Porsche Club of America since 2015. He currently serves as the LSRPCA Board’s Membership Chairperson and acting Get-ToGether (GTG) Chairperson. He is interested in all things Porsche and enjoys meeting members at all of the Lone Star Regions events whether it is a Concours d’Elegance, a Social event, a GTG, a Tour, a Car Control Clinic (CCC) , a Club Race, an Autocross, a High Performance Driver Education(HPDE) event or just hanging out at impromptu events with fellow owners.
He is passionate about the club and relishes recruiting new members. Alastair has many years of motorsport and competition driving experience at venues around the world. He is a qualified HPDE instructor with PCA and other organizations. He regularly shares his knowledge and expertise at CCCs and HPDEs throughout Texas. In addition he can often be found working as a volunteer supporting PCA events.

Alastair is married with three children and a fluffy white Golden Retriever. He is an experienced executive in the Oil and Gas industry and an adjunct professor at Rice University (he is also an Alumni). He lives in Katy, TX and is the proud owner of a 991.2 GT3.
