A Special Event on February 9, 2019
The Lone Star Region special awards and recognition banquet is a don’t miss event! Flying Lizard Motorsports’ Darren Law will be the Guest Speaker and will set the stage for the event theme of “Looking Forward, Going Forward”.
We will look back at 2018 region accomplishments and recognize member contributions and look ahead to the 2019 plans and the changing world of Porsche. An amazing raffle of very special Porsche items will round out the incredible evening.
Join us at the Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center just 30 minutes north of the 610 loop on February 9th. The last day for registration is Thursday, February 7th here at ClubRegistration.net.
The event cost is $35.00 per person and is open to members of Lone Star Region, the Porsche Club of America and their invited guests. The dress for the event is business casual. There is secured, complimentary parking for the evening.
Get Together with Friends
The evening starts at 6:00 PM with a get together in the beautiful 4th floor Foyer area of the Woodlands Waterway Marriott. Cash bars and hors d’oeuvres will be available.
Chairpersons from the various Lone Star Region PCA activities areas will be available to talk with you about their competition activities and plans for the 2019 season.
Stop by and let them know what you would like to see at their events. Look for them to make some exciting announcements about new event features. Here’s a working layout of our setup for the event.
Banquet, Awards, Presentations, Raffle & Door Prizes!
At 7:00 PM the doors will swing open to the elegant ballroom and we will take our seats around the dining tables. A huge thanks to Pamela Fitzgerald for assisting in the scrumptious dinner menu selection. You won’t leave hungry!
Lone Star Region PCA currently has two competitive award activities. Trophies will be awarded to the 2018 class winners in both competitions, Autocross and Concours d’Elegance during a brief presentation.
There will also be a couple of special awards presented to members of the local Porsche community who have contributed so much of their time and energy over the years. You’ll have to attend the event to see who they are!
Flying Lizard Motorsports’ Darren Law
Guest Speaker Darren Law will talk about how “Looking Forward, Going Forward” is used by Porsche to develop cars and change with the times to keep at the front edge of the racing industry with the development of their cars.
Darren will provide insight into the exciting world of professional driving and how a driver functions and evolves. He will talk about his more than a decade driving professionally in the top level of sports car racing and then progressing to a team owner and manager.
After Darren’s presentation, you will have a chance to ask him questions about Porsche and professional motorsports in an open Q&A session.
New! Amazing Raffle of Very Special Porsche Items
Thanks to the efforts of Hector Martinez, 2019 LSRPCA Member at Large Director, we have added a two-item raffle of significant Porsche items to the event!
Hector managed to acquire an official Porsche Motorsports helmet and had it signed by the drivers of the two Porsche 911 RSR’s that ran at this month’s Daytona Rolex24.
Our second raffle item is a beautiful watercolor print by well-know motorsports artist Steve Petrosky of the famous 2018 Le Mans winning Porsche 911 RSR Pink Pig. The print is number 24 of 100 in the series. It is signed by Le Mans winning driver of the Pink Pig, Laurens Vanthoor.
Raffle tickets will be $5.00 per ticket or 5 for $20.00. You must be present to win.

Each attendee will receive three door prize tickets at check in. You must be present to win.
There is complimentary parking inside the public parking garage and we will have 3 HPD officers to look after our beauties from 6 PM to 10 PM while we are inside having fun. Parking will be the 5th floor (top floor) of the public parking garage unless it rains, then we will go to the 3rd floor. The Sky Bridge walkway that leads us directly to the event foyer area is on the 4th floor. Alternately, the hotel has Event Valet Parking for $22.00 for the evening available at the hotel front entrance. A parking map is available here.
