Class Changes

For 2018 only, we are making minor adjustments to better balance class numbers and to recognize the increased pace of performance improvement since the introduction of water cooled 911’s, Boxsters, and Caymans.

  • Move Base 986 Boxsters (down to) front drive Porsches
  • Move Base 996 Carreras (down to) Boxster / Cayman Class
  • Move 718 Boxster S (up to) 911 water-cooled class
  • Move 991.2S and GTS Carreras (up to) AWD and Turbo Class
  • “X” classes will not change in 2018

To build upon the new points championship, Jim will form a committee of those interested in revising Autocross classes during the 3-month summer break to look at both Porsche and “X” classes.

Championship points will be awarded as follows in each class:

1st 12 points
2nd   9 points
3rd   7 points
4th   6 points
5th   4 points
6th   3 points
7th   2 points
8th and beyond   1 point

Registration Changes

Jim has modified the classes to reflect these changes and listed the exact model years affected. Jim commented, “If you have already registered and are affected, we will fix your class for you if it changed. Participants should remember to be sure and register under the same name for each event.”

In addition to the new Autocross regional championship, there will once again be a Concours d’Elegance regional championship and a championship for the new Four-door Porsche Challenge (4dPC).
