DE Policies
The following describes some particular policies relating to participation in Lone Star Region Drivers' Education events.
Application to Participate in a DE
Application to participate in a DE and all payments must be
made online at www.ClubRegistration.net
The application process for all potential applicants will open
at the same time: noon 30 days prior to the event.
We will email you that your application has been accepted only after receipt of your payment. You can always
check www.ClubRegistation.net for
your status.
Verified PCA Members shall be given acceptance preference over non-members
for the first 7 days that the application process is open. After
the first 7 days, applications are accepted when their payments are received for
both PCA members and non members.
This means that:
(1) Verified PCA members will be accepted
during the first 7 days. Acceptance will be dependent on immediate
receipt of payment of the entry fee. Non-PCA applicants will not
be accepted at that time
(2) At the end of the first 7-day period, we will begin
acceptance of all applicants based upon their application and payment
date. At that time, there will be no preference given
to PCA members.
(3) If your entry fee is not paid immediately upon application,
your application will not be considered until your fee payment is received.
For a PCA Member to be verified, he or she must include his or her
PCA membership number, which will be verified by our system as the correct
and current membership number associated with that member.
There are no walk-ons allowed on the day of the event.

Payment
Your application is time-stamped as to when you make payment, not as
to when you made the on-line application. Applicants are encouraged to
pay at the same time as they make their application.
Our system will record your time of payment as your application time.
Irrespective of when you apply on-line, your application will not be
accepted until your payment (via PayPal) has been received. This means
that if someone applies after you but pays before you, the other person
will be accepted before you. For example, if there is only one
spot available and you apply but do not pay, then someone who pays before
you, even if they applied after you, will get that spot!

Cancellation
LSR incurs significant costs in having a High Speed Driving Event. These costs include the track rental, corner workers, etc. These are generally non-refundable costs to LSR.
LSR has the following cancellation policy relating to DE participants (effective as of May 6, 2009)
- IF you cancel prior to 10 days before the DE (prior to noon on the Wednesday one week before the event), we will refund your monies in full.
- IF you cancel within 10 days before the event (after noon on the Wednesday one week before the event) and we are unable to substitute another participant in your place prior to 5 days before the event, all funds will be forfeited by you.
- IF you do not show up for the DE on the first day of the event, all funds will be forfeited by you.

Restrictions - Prohibited Vehicles, Open Cars, Restraints
LSR reserves the right to prohibit any type of cars for our
events.
The currently prohibited cars include:
-
Open Wheel Cars
-
Cars with only one seat in the Green and Blue Run Group
-
Convertibles without a proper roll bar installed.
-
Mini Coopers
-
Any vehicle deemed “unsafe” by the LSR Officials.
All open top cars must have a roll bar installed.
-
Any make of car delivered with factory-installed roll over protection
meets the minimum standards for PCA DE events.
-
If a car does not have factory installed roll over protection, a
roll bar must be installed, which meets the "broomstick" rule
(the driver's helmeted head is below a bar placed on top of the rollbar
and windshield). All targa tops must be installed unless there is additional
roll over protection. All sunroofs must be in the closed position.
The windshield alone is not considered to be factory roll over protection.
-
For all convertible or open cockpit car in any run group, the soft-top
must be in the up position or the hard top installed. However,
the soft-top may be placed down if all riders have full arm restraints
and 5 or 6-point safety harnesses.
In addition, other vehicle-related restrictions include:
-
IF YOUR CAR HAS A HARNESS SYSTEM FOR THE DRIVER, AN EQUAL OR BETTER (in
type, make, style and age) HARNESS SYSTEM FOR THE PASSENGER IS REQUIRED. IF
YOUR HARNESS SYSTEM IS NOT EQUAL OR BETTER. A PASSENGER MAY
NOT BE ALLOWED TO RIDE IN YOUR CAR.
- Consult the Drivers' Education Handbook for additional restrictions on harness systems.

Garages
There are about 15 garages available for rent by participants for each
event. Click here for a schematic of the garage area layout. At the time you make your on-line application, you can request
a garage.
Garage preferences are the same as for the application;
however, you do not pay for the garages at time of application. If you
are assigned a garage, we will advise you sometime during the week before
the event. At
that time, it will be necessary for you to make your payment through
the on-line (clubregistration.net) system.
