  • NEW - Coming to Houston October 11th - 12th - Car Control Clinic: The Lone Star Region PCA is working hard to set-up a Car Control Clinic program in the Houston area. This will be an exciting learning experience involving track-time, braking, slalom, and skid-pad exercises, and classroom instruction. This clinic will give you the chance to push your car HARD and learn (or exceed) the limits of traction in a safe environment. It will ultimately make you a safer driver on the road and who knows, on the track at an Autocross or Drivers Education event.

We are planning our first full day event on a Saturday, October 11th, followed by a full day of Autocross on Sunday, October 12th, to put the car control lessons to the test. The venue will be the Gulf Greyhound Park on the south side of town. The cost for the 2 day event has yet to be determined, but if you are interested in participating yourself or with your kid(s) (must be at least 16 with a valid driver's license), please contact Joost Perquin.
  • Help us get our Autocross Program up and running. We need volunteers to assist at the events, to be instructors and to serve on the AX committee. Read all about Autocross and Contact Matt Kucharski for details and to participate in some upcoming events to observe the AX process and drive in these events. These events started with a BMW Club Autocross on May 18th at the Houston Police Academy, an SCCA practice autocross on May 31st, and an SCCA Autocross on June 8th at Gulf Greyhound Park. Future events are on the calendar.
  • The Spring Tour ROCKED on the weekend of April 11 - 13. We headed up to the "Other Hill Country" around Tarpley, Utopia, and Leakey and spent Saturday driving some fantastic roads in the beautiful Lost Maples area. Participants stayed at ranches, hunting lodges, and bed and breakfast places, and we enjoyed great breakfasts and a fantastic cowboy steak dinner at the 7-Canyons ranch. CLICK HERE FOR A TRIP REPORT AND PHOTOS!
  • Photos of the Club Race and a few for the participants in the Meet-Drive-Eat event to Ernie's in Brenham are now posted.
  • The Formula 1 Season is underway and so are the LSR Formula 1 Dinners. Club members meet every Saturday evening the day before the race at a restaurant that serves cuisine of the country in which the race is being held. No experience is needed to enjoy these dinners, and we might even get around to discussing the race. Click here for information about the dates, venues, and how to RSVP.
  • Calling all Porschenistas of the female persuasion!!! The club is interested in providing some "ladies only" activities for our women members and associate members. If you are interested in participating, e-mail Nina Midway or call her at (281) 686 2989.
  • Have breakfast with your car. Recently, LSR member Michael Richey and a couple of "P-car enthusiasts" organized an informal P-car coffee GTG (that's "get together" for you non texters) on a Saturday morning at the Starbucks at the SE corner of Woodlands Pkwy & Kuykendahl in the Woodlands with an open invitation for anyone interested to stop by. He did this using our Yahoo Discussion Group. WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!! Before the LSR Board gets a hold of this idea and butts in with all sorts of rules, join the discussion group and (at your own risk and all that) organize your own P-Car GTG in your local area!
  • If you have participated in a club event and would like to provide FEEDBACK ON YOUR EXPERIENCE, please complete the LSR PCA Event Feedback Form. In addition to events, you can comment on PCA, the way LSR is run, the PorscheNaut, the web site, or anything else. The forms will go to the Member at Large and input from them will be discussed by the Board.

We have also posted a survey to find out what your interests are for club activities. We want to get more first time members to participate in the club and more "older members" to participate for the first time. Click here to take the MEMBER SURVEY on-line.

  • You are invited to join the Lone Star Region's YAHOO GROUP. The Group is located at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lsrpca/. This is a general purpose group to exchange information about your Porsche and LSR PCA activities, and it also provides a location where you can ask questions for general discussion.
  • Looking for a hard to find part or accessory? Check out some popular CATALOGUES.
  • If your e-mail address has changed since you joined PCA, the club's information on how to contact you may be out of date. If you haven't been getting e-mail alerts about up-coming club events, please update your member profile (e-mail and residence address, the year or model of the Porsche you drive, or any other profile information) with PCA. Also, drop an e-mail to William Wong, our Membership Chair, to provide him with your new e-mail address. However, you must update your PCA profile to get in on the PCA "automated" e-mail distribution.

LSR Stuff - Complete your wardrobe / accessorize your car with LSR logo things!

But first, a word from our sponsor:You will note that LSR does not sell items with the Porsche logo (nor for that matter does the Porsche logo or other Porsche icons like the 911 silhouette appear on the web site). This is because Dr. Ing. h.c. F.Porsche AG is the owner of numerous trademarks, including the Porsche crest, the words Porsche, Boxster, Carrera, 911, etc., and the model numbers and distinctive shapes of Porsche's automobiles, among other items. You can buy items with the Porsche logo on the Porsche web site, or by calling 1-800-PORSCHE (767-7243). Some vendors may also have a license to sell Porsche items. Check their catalogues. Other vendors, such as those found on e-Bay, are usually not licensed to sell Porsche logo items. Licensed PCA items may be purchased on line as well. If you are a PCA member, click here to go to the order page or to view the catalogue.
