The Halloween Meet Drive Eat Drive Tour - October 31st, 2004
About 25 LSR members met at the Katy High School parking lot on Sunday morning, drove 225 miles across the prairies, over the rolling hills, and through the piney woods. We stopped at Yankees Tavern in Carlos for lunch, and a good time was had by all.
This
trip was an experiement with the Meet Drive Eat Drive format. Someone
picks a route, someone volunteers to lead the drive, an e-mail blast
lets LSR members know the time and date to meet, then we meet, drive,
eat, and drive.
If you have an idea for a route or a place to eat that we could drive to, let me know!

Weimer plotted the course and led the drive. His favorite color Porsche
is black, but he was in the minority on this drive.
We
left in a line and managed to keep things pretty much together on the
drive.
The
scenery was great and there was some challenging driving on the route.
We
had lunch at Yankee's Tavern, which is normally a biker haunt. Our crowd
was a bit more upscale (we thought).
We
ordered home made burgers and the trimmings and chowed down on the back
patio.
The
trip back was as good as the trip home, although stopping for gas was
a little dicey!
